CBHS - Wolves' Tennis Wall of Fame
Matt "Juice" Whelchel - 2006 |
Cut Bank Wolves Tennis |
Matt, a three year Varsity player and letter winner for the Wolves was a State Doubles runnerup three straight years. He finished 2nd in 2004 and 2005 with his partner and another Wolves' Wall of Famer, Garett Meznarich. He made the ultimate team sacrifice in his senior season by being the leader of the Wolves No. 2 doubles team, with Cody Pyette winning a key match at the state tournament that ultimately allowed the Wolves to capture their 5th straight State Championship. Juice's leadership helped he and his partner, Cody through the 2006 state bracket and into the doubles final for his third straight season. Again, this led the Wolves to another team title. He was a team Captain in his Senior season and led by example with a solid work ethic. His dedication to the team led to him being selected as the "MOST INSPIRATIONAL PLAYER" in 2006. The CBHS tennis coaching staff say, "Thank You Juice!" and Welcome him into the Wolves' Tennis Wall of FAME! |
